Vega was donated to The Exceller Fund by a caring horse lover who paid his veterinary fees after he was abandoned at a clinic.
Vega is a very well mannered young gelding who is sensible and good with people. Vega (or Vegas as his fosters son calls him) is currently located in Ohio where he is being evaluated for both personality and soundness. So far he is excelling in the personality department and has learned to stand quietly in cross ties and the wash bay for grooming and his foster is slowly working toward a full bath when the weather warms up. His foster is enjoying his funloving personality and plans to begin with some saddle work soon. We hope to have him ready for his forever home this summer!
Vega found his new home in Oct. 2011 and we couldn’t be more excited for the pair! We have already received very promising updates on him from his new adopter and look forward to future updates and photos that we can share!
Unfortunately, after many years together, Vega’s adopter had to return him to TEF. He has been diagnosed with kissing spine and is no longer fit as an adoption prospect. He has now been retired, but is participating as one of TEF’s therapy horses as the horses are used in an on the ground only program.
