The Golden Years Fund

Almata, daughter of Exceller, at age 30.

Past their prime and often forgotten, geriatric horses require extra care and attention.  That is why The Golden Years Fund has been created in honor of the son of Secretariat, Verifiable.  The aged stallion found himself in a bad situation at 27 years old and The Exceller Fund was asked to help.  Although we generally focus on Thoroughbreds coming directly off of the track, extenuating circumstances compelled The Exceller Fund to step in, even before his identity was confirmed.  Verifiable was humanely euthanized in Oct. 2013, but will never be forgotten.

Since we offer a lifetime commitment to horses that come into our program, we realize the dedication and specialized care geriatric horses require in terms of time, effort, and money.  Horses in our program benefit from the Golden Years Fund once they reach 20 years of age.
