This sweet and beautiful bay gelding developed front knees that look like Seabiscuit's knees, and his racing career was over. With no place to go, The Exceller Fund was able to secure him from the track so he can enjoy a safe future. The Fans of Barbaro helped raise some of the money needed to transport him to his foster home.

He is currently in foster care in Missouri.  "Birdy" is one of the sweetest geldings on the farm, but unfortunately, is very limited by his knees as far as his riding capabilities.  He is available for adoption as a companion at this point.  Other than occasional walking under saddle he will not be suitable as a riding horse to prevent further damage.  Birdy would love nothing more than a spot in your family and a good daily dose of love and attention!!
