Pro
On The Road e is a granddaughter of the great Mr. Prospector and
Kennedy Road. When we first got her, she was very thin but filled into
a beautiful mare with the good care she received at EPONA in New
Hampshire. Pro On The Road was one of the first few horses we purchased
directly out of the kill pen at New Holland.
UPDATE
- April 2002: Pro On The Road had surgery early in April. Her knee was
found to have a lot of old chips, arthritis and several spurs. She
should be sound for light riding and ring work.
UPDATE
- May 2004: Pro On The Road has been adopted! This makes another
complete cycle for a horse that was destined for the slaughterhouse.
UPDATE - October 2005: Pro On The Road's owner had to move out
of state and was unable to keep her. She has been returned to The
Exceller Fund.
UPDATE - August 2006: Pro On The Road, now known as "Lilly" is
in Fulton, New York near Syracuse. She loves to be fussed over and
groomed. She is a beautiful mover, and as long as the demands are not
strenuous, she remains sound.
UPDATE - May 2007: Lilly continues to do well. She moves sound
under saddle and is a lovely mover. She loves to be groomed and fussed
over and has thrived on a new pro-biotic supplement Performance Products - Equine Microbials
which has done wonders for her during her heat cycles. Lilly had
experienced pain, unruly behavior and occassional colic during fall and
spring heat, but these symptoms have disappeared since starting the
microbial regimen.
UPDATE: November 2007: Pro On The Road is now in Lexington Kentucky. She continues to be a sweetheart and a beautiful mover.
